POSITION : GENERAL MANAGER – SALES
LOCATION – KOLKATA – HO
REPORTING TO : EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
BRIEF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Developing and implementing strategies for increase of market share and profitability on sustainable basis in line with Annual Business Plan.
- To direct the sales team and establish sales targets – brand wise, pack wise as per annual business plan and help them in breaking the same geographically , monthly, weekly and daily targets.
- To motivate and direct the sales team to establish coverage , distribution and display objective to meet targets.
- To plan and implement local sales promotion in consultation with marketing.
- To analyse stock movement / availability.
- To help the company in developing long term pricing strategy to maximise variable margins through production/ territory / pack mix decision.
- Regularly have commercial review with Executive Director and Director – Finance for profitability and Working Capital including debtors.
- Have a clear focus on new channels like institutions, GT & MT to build distribution , visibility and volume.
- Workout in conjunction with HRD a training calendar for all members in the sales organisation and implement the same.
- To prepare and achieve turnover and profit targets.
- Increase of market share for the brands.
- Assist to recruit , develop & retain quality manpower
- To identify and appoint channel partners, distributors & retail outlets.
- Follow-up for listing of company’s brand with various institutions including CSD and service the units satisfactorily.
QUALIFICATION/ EXPERIENCE OF THE CANDIDATE
- Must be a Graduate from one of the premier institution with over 10 years experience in sales and marketing with a minimum of 5 years of such experience to be in a FMCG company of repute.
- Should have worked in at least 2 regions of the country , which must include Eastern Region.
